Highland Park Baptist Church

Missions

We believe that the Bible is the story of God's passion to redeem men and women who are lost in sin. From Genesis to Revelation, we read the story of God's love for man, and His incarnation, death and resurrection to save us from our sins. His mission must be our mission. At Highland Park Baptist Church we believe that we must go to the lost as well, whether they be our neighbors or people around the globe, to share the Good News of salvation in Christ. The Global Missions program of Highland Park Baptist Church aspires to glorify God by mobilizing the church to send out missionaries who live as Christ did, incarnationally, lovingly, and truthfully among the peoples of the earth. Our goal is make disciples of Jesus Christ, teaching them to walk in obedience to Him and in fellowship with one another. This passion has characterized our church since its founding. It is more than just a program or facet of ministry with us, it is who we are as a fellowship of believers.

Highland Park Baptist Church supports 70 long term missionaries and their families along with 24 retired missionaries. These missionaries serve in diverse and strategic ministries of all kinds. Our desire is to support and encourage their ministries in multiple ways. The church provides a home on our campus which can house up to four missionary families while they are on home assignment.

Our missions program seeks to educate, disciple, and mobilize the people of our fellowship for local and global outreach through an annual all church Global Missions Fest, the training and sending of short-term teams to partner with our field missionaries, and a Missionary Discipleship and Training program for those considering vocational missionary service. We also encourage prayer and care support groups, which are personally connected to our missionaries.

In addition, Highland Park Baptist Church is currently partnering with OM India in order to train pastors and leaders for the fast growing church in India. We call this the Strategic Alliance for Leadership Training in India (SALT India). Each year we send training teams to India to serve along side of Indian believers, assisting them to address some of the leadership challenges presented to the church as it reaches particularly into the Dalit community.
