*Pray for J.B. (Interaction Int’l. in IL) as she is in Asia for a conference for MKs and their families. Pray that God would give her the strength and wisdom she needs, as the schedule is full with many presentations and individual meetings with families about educating and parenting their children where they serve. Pray for these families serving in strategic areas that often face complex situations regarding their children’s education. Pray that God will use it all to encourage those in attendance.
*Joe & Nancy King (retired in CO) ask for prayer as Joe pastors their ‘little flock’ in the eastern plains of CO. The church has been renting an old restaurant for a couple of years and the bank presented them with an offer to buy the building, and they can actually afford it. They are currently doing research to see if there are all kinds of reparation requirements before they could take occupancy. Pray for the Lord’s timing. Encourage them at: joewking@gmail.com.
*Uche & Marianne Aaron (The Seed Co. in Nigeria) are thankful that Marianne was able to spend good, quality time with her mother in Holland before she died Dec. 12th. All of her siblings were there – each caring for her in small ways. Pray for 4 of Marianne’s siblings who do not have a relationship with their mother’s Lord—pray that the testimonies of the believing siblings will lead them to search for the Living God. Pray for the Obolo Bible project—that the Exec. Committee will accurately proof the entire Scriptures to remove any mistakes. Typesetting is expected to take 2-3 months. They ask in praying for the team, that we ‘keep our hands up’ as did Caleb and Hur for Moses when he led Israel in fighting the Amalekites. Pray that the computers and computer programs and other equipment will work well. With 30 + languages still needing translation in Nigeria, pray that Uche & Marianne will be faithful to the task before them.
*Pray for Mark & Pauline Nelson (Wycliffe) as they leave this month to begin a new term of service in Costa Rica, helping translators from Latin America who are going around the globe. Mark will be changing his role from managing the customer assistance team to using his IT and Macintosh expertise – fitting his skill set well. They are delighted to hear of excellent medical facilities in Costa Rica, which will help Pauline as she deals with Parkinson’s. Pray that she will find her niche once they get settled in. Pray for their adjustment to a new country and culture, and for timing for taking refresher Spanish classes. Pray for son, Martin, as he stays in N.C. working full time at JAARS—that his birthday on 1/22 will be good even without family.
*Pray for Dave & Lynn West (support raising for ABWE) as Dave works with the International Student Ministry (ISM), having been reactivated with ABWE. Pray for wisdom and energy to minister to int’l students in local universities and to motivate church members to participate in cross-cultural ministry. Pray for good contacts as he hits the support trail and seeks to share the ‘full-cycle evangelism’ passion he has for these college students. If you would like more info on ISM, contact Dave at devoewest3@cs.com.
*Jill Daniels (STM w/Campus Crusade in IL) is thankful for the opportunity to have gone to Ecuador a couple months ago with a team to share their faith on college campuses. During the week there, the team had a chance to share the Good News of Christ to 84 students and 36 of them accepted Christ as their Savior. Pray that the students in Guayquil would continue to share their faith and grow in community. Jill recently returned from a conference in IN with 2400 students and staff coming together to train, fellowship and worship. Pray that God would help Jill and Steve discern where He wants them to invest their time next year in ministry. Pray for 2 new women that Jill can disciple this semester, and for opportunities for Steve to share Christ with his coworkers.
