*Pray for the SALT India Women’s Team as they leave Friday and the Men’s Team as they return on Sunday.

*Compassion Evangelical Hospital (Guinea) rejoices that another shipping container is filled and en route to CEH.  It holds equipment and supplies to complete the Operating Rooms of the new Surgical Building.  Pray for its safe and speedy delivery.  Also, please pray for the new doctor and 5 nurses who recently joined the CEH staff.  Pray that the political situation in Guinea will not hinder the work.  Pray for funding of a new vehicle for hospital use.

*Suzy Grumelot (WorldTeam in France) asks for prayer for a couple other women to help Anne teach for the ladies Bible study group in Cergy.  Pray for Christine who will have further surgery on Oct. 14 to remove suspicious lymph nodes.  Pray for her family who is taking this quite hard, as this is an invasive surgery.  Pray for the France VIE church leaders retreat Oct. 29-30.  Claire has a praise to God as she did very well on her final oral exams at University of Geneva.  Suzy is thankful for good beginnings in the Paris Project outreach to Parisians.

*Scott & Lorna Muha (TEAM in Spain) ask for prayer for Scott’s brother-in-law, Stephen, who was recently placed on a heart transplant list.  They were notified on Sunday that a heart was available, got there and waited all day, to have the surgery called off—enlarged heart.  He will have to wait until another heart becomes available.  Pray for 3 couples that God has brought into the Muha’s lives:  Marcela & Chiqui and their 2 daughters, Ivonne & Guillermo and their kids, and Maria & Jairo and their daughters.  Pray for open minds and soft hearts for the things of God as their neighbors consider a letter Scott & Lorna recently sent to offer English classes, from beginners English to a possible book club.  They hope to get to know them and be able to serve them in a practical way.

*Pray for Irma Sawdon (retired in WA).  She is currently in the hospital after suffering from 3 different incidents which landed her in the hospital with high blood pressure and a fear of a stroke.  In order to prevent a stroke, surgery will be scheduled at some point on a carotid artery.  Hopefully medication can help with heart issues.  Irma fears that she is putting an extra burden on her daughter who is wearing many hats taking care of her family and driving a school bus 5 days/week.  Send her a note of encouragement by way of daughter, Kari Ewing, to:  ewing6122@comcast.net.  Her daughter says that our concern for Irma has meant a great deal to her and to the family as well.  Thank you!!

*Pray for Kirk & Laura Slater (WorldVenture on home assignment from Uganda) ask for prayer for sons, Austin & Seth, who both came down with whooping cough right around the start of school—in spite of immunizations.  Austin (13), particularly, has missed a lot of school.  They are trying to get to school for part of a day, and are missing their friends and class discussions, etc.  Pray for healing and immune systems to get stronger.  The Slaters are home until next June and would love to share what God is doing in Uganda.  Contact them at klslater@worldventure.net or 248-346-4925.

*Glenn & Linn Boese (WorldVenture in Ivory Coast) ask for prayer for Glenn’s dad who has just been put in hospice care.  Glenn is flying to MI to help with his mom and dad’s care.

*John & Jacky Weidman (Navigators in MI) ask for prayer for their fall programs – that they would get quality leaders who love God and love children and youth to help them disciple the many kids who need it in their community.  Pray for an outreach once a month on Saturday mornings called the “Band of Brothers”—a breakfast outreach where men will be challenged to commit themselves to being Godly men for their wives, children, jobs, communities, and churches.

*Les Thompson, Director of LOGOI (Miami-based ministry) and formerly supported by HPBC was promoted to heaven on Aug. 30th following many months of ill health.  For more info, visit LOGOI.org.
