Highland Park Baptist Church

*Kevin Cochrane (SEND in Japan) asks for prayer for a classmate, Brian, who has mentioned a few times a desire to go to church with Kevin.  Pray for continued diligence in Japanese language learning, as he has decided to repeat his first block in order to get a better handle in foundational understanding.  Pray for Kevin to fight off feelings of loneliness and discouragement.  Send him a note to:  kevin3cochrane@gmail.com.

*Pray for Dick & Gerry Walton (retired from SEND in PA).  They will celebrate Gerry’s 80th birthday April 12 and all the children will be home for the celebration.  Send her a Congratulatory note to:  sendgrwalton@verizon.net.

*Pray for York & Jodi Moore (InterVarsity in MI) as York helps lead the U of M Price of Life campaign scheduled for this Oct.  York is also helping to lead a city-wide Price of Life campaign in Omaha to reach this city for Christ through this anti-trafficking campaign.  York is in his final term at Fuller Seminary and will graduate with a Master’s in Global Leadership in June.  Pray for safety in travels, as he is in CA this week to oversee the National Speakers program.  Pray for York & Jodi as they now have their niece, Skyla, living with them – to remove her from a messy divorce and home situation.  Pray for her adjustment and spiritual growth.  She is in 9th grade and attending PCA with York & Jodi’s kids.

*S. & E. N. (Africa) are thankful to have found a house in their new assignment and the boys are transitioning well into a new school.  Pray for them this week as they travel back during spring break to where they spent their first 10 yrs. to say proper good-byes to those who have been a big part of their life.  Pray for the 16 new students to the Beer-Sheba project who have come from all over West Africa to participate.

*Pray for Scott & Lorna Muha (TEAM in Spain).  They are thankful for God’s protection a couple weeks ago when their car was hit on their way to church.   The car is being repaired and they are both ok.  Lorna continues to feel stronger since her surgery, and they are looking at the end of April or beginning of May for the reconstruction surgery.  Pray with them towards this end—for success and no complications.  Pray as they move towards joining another ministry initiative of TEAM in Spain.  Pray that God would direct an opportunity to volunteer at MD Anderson Cancer Center there, to serve the patients in a helping role, as well as helping to teach English to the staff.  Send them a note to:  smuhahahas@gmail.com.

*Pray for Rick & Christy Gascho (Pioneers in Czech Republic).  Pray for wisdom and direction as they seek to guide and lead 3 new missionary families and enhance their effectiveness in church planting.  Pray for peace in nearby Ukraine—that the Lord will use this time of uncertainty to bring many people to Himself.  Local hospitals in Prague are treating a number of injured demonstrators from Kiev, and there are daily demonstrations in front of the Russian and Ukrainian embassies.   Pray for the Gascho children to continue to have strength from the Lord to thrive in a culture where desperately few know Him in a personal way.

*Henry Eskelund (retired from CEH in Denmark) is thankful for recent energy (at 88+ yrs.) to get new glasses, new phone, new doctor, new hearing aids and a rollator to assist in walking!  Dorthe Jensen, the new director there is doing very well and the CEH TV productions are now being used in the Middle East in several languages – PTL!  He is thankful to be able to do 2 radio programs a week and share the Gospel.  Please pray for the leadership in Norway and Northern Europe.

*Pray for the Philippine STMT (Doug Bell, Dan & Diane Kanneth, Carol Schuldt, Rick Weingartner and Marilyn Young), as they leave tomorrow for 2 ½ weeks.  Pray for Spirit led service as they teach values in the community, college tutoring and V.B.S.  Pray for J. & C. K. as they host this team.

We have a car need for 1 missionary:  P.O. who will be in the mission apts. from mid-May – mid-August.  Call Loosha in the Global Ministries office (248-357-5464 ext. 228) if you can help!
