Highland Park Baptist Church

6-29-11

*Pray for Dave & Julie Kuntzman (affiliates leaving Egypt) as they just returned from their 2 yr. ministry in Cairo for Dave to become HPBC’s Business Manager beginning July 1.  Continue to pray for the church there as they try to re-build from the political violence that began in January.  Pray for this transition and for wisdom as they look for housing.

*Pray for Scott & Lorna Muha (TEAM in Spain) as they deal with difficulties with team members.  This has brought their small church plant to rally and come together in loving and practical ways.  Pray that proper paperwork will come in to allow them to qualify for their visa.  Their current visas expire on July 5!

*T. & L. S.(Asia) are thankful that their children’s school should be completed and allow them to move into this new building by mid-June.  Pray that the needed official permissions will be completed to allow school to begin this fall.  L. is thankful that God answered the prayer for a full-time nurse to come and work for the school.  Pray for their son, Stephen, who has a learning disability.  They have been working with him doing educational therapy at school and tutoring him at home.  Pray for the other children as they help out with a 2 week summer camp where they will teach English to other children.  Pray that they would be a witness to the other leaders and to those who attend.  Pray for aviation training as they plan to begin in Sept. in a restricted country.  Pray that they get all resources in place to do this with excellence and effectively use the opportunity to expand God’s Kingdom.  Pray that the Learning Technologies ministry continues developing to assist pastors and churches in remote areas.

*Bonnie Carvey (retired in CO) was recently diagnosed with inner ear problems – which is a much better scenario than a cardiac issue which is what she originally thought.  She still works with 5th grade girls in AWANA and leads the elementary Sunday School teachers and helpers in prayer before SS begins.  Send her a note of encouragement:  bonniecarvey@gmail.com.

*Send a note of congratulations to Kevin & Meghan Armstrong (GCM in Ann Arbor) as they celebrate the birth of their 2nd daughter, Faren Kathleen, born May 27th.  Email:  meganlou@gmail.com.

*Pray for Suzy Grumelot (WorldTeam in France) as she moves TODAY into central Paris.  She is thankful that God is bringing the Paris Project Team together.  Pray the God will open hearts of many Parisiens/Parisiennes in the days ahead.  Pray for the Cergy-le-Haut church as they install Kevin as part-time pastor for the year ahead.

*Jenni Sternberg(GCM in TX) asks for prayer as she and fiancé, Ade, will NOT be getting married on July 9, as originally planned.  The Embassy in Nigeria rescheduled his hearing to July 25, so pray for patience and God’s timing to work it all out.

*K. & L. K.(Asia) ask for prayer for their children who have now finished 2 weeks of school and are beginning their language classes.  Pray for increased comprehension!  Pray for L. as she deals with a vast array of complications in working with people in difficult situations.  K. starts several new projects this month which need guidance to get off to a great start.

*John & Marilyn Rice(Christar in The Netherlands) ask for prayer for their son, Jonathan, who lost his job several weeks ago and cannot find work.  Pray that this would bring him into a deeper relationship with God and a new focus in life..
