*Dwight & Barbara Slater (retired, in apt. #2) ask for prayer for Barbara who came home (apt. 2) from a hospital stay last week.  Send her a note of encouragement and put in apt. 2 mail slot in pastors’ hallway.

*A.N. (Central Asia) asks for prayer for their national leaders in the next few months, as they work with them to take over more responsibilities and work through project plans and budgets.  A lot of this is in preparation for her beginning home leave in April.  (She will be with us for our GMF.)  Pray for their ‘Birth Life Saving Skills’ course that teaches men and women how to prevent problems in pregnancy and during delivery.  They hope to teach this in all 3 villages this winter.  They are thankful for progress made in the villages – i.e. irrigation projects and outhouses being built.  Pray for resolutions for problems between brothers.

*Pray for Shelby Tryon (short-termer with CRU in Holland).  Her team recently participated in a nation-wide conference for student leaders of Agape Studentlife movements for a week-end in Utrecht.  Their time concluded with a big ‘Open Huis’ where the Gospel was presented and a student chose to trust his life to Christ.  Pray for Shelby’s Connect studies with a non-Christian student that begins this month.  Pray for relations to develop with the hogeschool (practical studies vs. theoretical studies) and for Shelby as she tries to start an action group there.  As of this past week, they were able to get into a classroom and Shelby took part in a discussion on ‘loss and grief.’  This was the beginning of a great foundation for a relationship with the professor for future projects and connecting with some of the students personally.  Check out Shelby’s blog at shelbyintilburg.blogspot.com.

*Kirk & Laura Slater (WorldVenture in Uganda) ask for prayer for a new church plant in Kibuzigye under the leadership of Anderson, a gifted young man.   Pray for the Slater boys – Austin, flourishing at Rift Valley Academy; Grant doing online schooling; Elliot and Seth home schooling with mom.  Pray for Laura as she teaches a Bible study with church ladies and mentors younger missionary ladies on their team.  Pray for Kirk as he leads their Uganda team and leads an intermission network in Kampala to nurture better member care among missionaries.  They plan on being at HPBC in August for several months of Home Assignment.

*Jim & Karen Getz (Navigators at MSU) ask for prayer for Karen who recently fell when a chair wasn’t there for her to sit in!  She had x-rays taken and is on pain meds, and is still quite sore.  They are awaiting x-ray results and hoping that she doesn’t have a compression fracture.  Pray for 3 Christian int’l. friends in Lansing who are job hunting.  Pray for “N” who recently accepted Christ – pray that she would grow in her faith as she settles into her new life in another city in the U.S.  Pray for Jim & Karen as they anxiously await the marriage of their daughter and fiancé this June in South Carolina.

*Pray for John & Debbie Clifton (Wycliffe in FL).  John will return next week from leading workshops in the Caucasus, which were well received.  Pray that the connections made during the workshop will open doors for language and translation work.   Please pray for wisdom in meetings he will be involved in between now and then. The purpose of these meetings is to discuss creative ways to assess need for translation and language work in closed areas in the region.
*Bryan Cole (short-termer with Int’l. Teams in Ecuador) asks for prayer for the 32 students there for the spring semester – for prepared hearts, renewed minds and a servant attitude.  Pray for Bryan as he continues as Dir. of Ed. & Discipleship, and also as he takes on some of the Dean of Students’ responsibilities.
