*The Uganda Short-term Missions Team returned safely last Saturday and report that the clinic in Kampala saw over 2,000 patients the first week of their trip. Continue to pray for Connie Jarlsberg and Inell Slater as they work this week on partnering with the church for an ongoing ministry to orphans with overwhelming medical needs. Pray for Connie’s dad in Wisconsin, who is doing OK, but has ongoing health issues. She has her brother and sister-in-law checking in with him, as well as a friend who is a nurse.
*Pray for Andy & Holly Rist (home assignment w/SEND from Ukraine). Abigail’s recovery from ear surgery is still in the healing stage and the Dr. wants to see her in another 3 weeks to see if the operation successfully closed the hole in her ear drum. Noah’s Dr. also wants to see him in 3 weeks to see how the correction is on his lazy eye. Pray for good resolution for both before they return to Ukraine in January.
*Mark & Pauline Nelson (Wycliffe in NC) are currently in Michigan visiting supporting churches and will be at HPBC on a couple of Wednesday nights. Pray that they will make good connections while in MI and WI this month.
*K. & L. K. (Asia) ask for prayer for their son, C, as he has first trimester school exams this next week. Daughter, C, has a boil and pinkeye and is discouraged. Pray for K. as he deals with major staff changes at the office, needing to shift people and responsibilities around to cover all that needs to be done. Pray for L. to have the wisdom, creativity and energy as she works to raise money for their partner organization.
*Pray for P. O. (Central Asia) as she prepares to leave this week-end for her home assignment. She is still looking for roommates to stay in her apt. while she’s home. Pray for good rest before she leaves to help battle a nasty cold. Please pray for a friend who recently lost her mother—for her emotional health and her father and family. P. hopes to continue to encourage her through email and Skype while she’s in the States. Pray for the provision of a vehicle for her to use while she’s home these 6 months. (Call Loosha in the Missions office if you can help 248-357-5467, ext. 228.)
*Pray for Brittany Bedford (pre-field with Pioneer) as she is now at 88% of her monthly support and has registered for language school in France for Oct. 31. Pray that God provides the money needed for their vehicle fund once the team gets to West Africa. Pray for back-translator, Solo, who is very close to a decision to follow Jesus.
*Pray for Eric & Melissa Lundquist (TEAM in Austria) as they make final preparations to return to the States in mid-October for home assignment. Pray for a retirement celebration this Sat. that Melissa is planning for colleagues that are retiring after 38 yrs. of service in Austria. Pray for Eric as he preaches 9/25—that the Word would penetrate deeply into those who listen.
*J. & M. R. (Europe) ask for prayer for their son, Jonathan, who will be moving across the country for schooling to improve his opportunities of finding gainful employment. Pray for their son-in-law as he flies with Compass Air and for energy for Debbie who has suddenly had to take on more responsibility at her job. Please continue praying for special contacts: D, R, J and S. Pray for their support shortage and for M’s restoration to good health.
